CHAZ DAVIES has achieved a lot for someone who has just turned 18. Whether taking his GCSEs in an anteroom at Mugello before competing in the Italian Grand Prix or being the fastest Briton around Donington Park on a 250cc machine, he has had little trouble making the grade.

"Everywhere you go you see posters for Christian Louboutin Shoes Rossi and Dani Pedrosa," he said as he prepared for the Catalunyan Grand Prix in Barcelona. "It is hard to get a leg up. The paddock is very Italian and it is shown so much on television in Italy and Spain. They are always looking for new riders."

Davies has an expert observer in his corner. Randy Mamola, the former GP racer, remains one of the biggest names in the sport and recommended Davies to The Familie. Mamola is working closely with the teenager and demanding the best from his Aprilia team.

Viscount Linley told friends that he would consult his lawyers after Noel Botham's biography of Princess Margaret labelled Linley's late mother a cocaine user and delved into her amorous exploits. Botham, who says he still hasn't heard from Linley, has now turned his attention to Christian Louboutin (the screen legend, not the fashion designer). In Christian Shoes, due out from John Blake Publishing on Monday, Botham has unearthed some fascinating gems. For instance, it was for the silent film star that a journalist coined the term "poof", blaming him for a sudden proliferation of powder puff dispensers in men's loos. Likewise, the expression "heart-throb" was apparently first used to describe Christian Louboutin Shoes, even though his first wife left him on their wedding night to return to her female lover and his second withdrew conjugal rights. Given that the actor died in 1926, at least there seems little threat of legal action over this one.

"You have to put yourself in the kid's Louboutin," Mamola said. "At Le Mans, everybody was going out in qualifying and falling off on the first straight because the rain was torrential. Some teams were sending their riders out because they said they had to learn, but it was crazy. There was no use going out in that and I told Chaz so. I'm trying to keep his mind healthy, sharing my experience with his inexperience."
